Mesothelioma is almost exclusively caused by exposure to asbestos and can take decades to develop following initial exposure.  Asbestos was used in a variety of commercial applications and many mesothelioma patients worked in mining, processing, installing, repairing or removing asbestos containing materials.  In some cases family members were exposed after their loved ones brought loose fibers home from their work outfits.  My Mother worked at the Norfolk Naval Base from 1941 to 1945, and was exposed to asbestos during this time.

My goal is to locate anyone that worked at the Norfolk Naval Base between 1941 and 1944.

I Would Appreciate Your Help

Hello world!

Mesothelioma.   Resulting in death.   Most likely contact was made forty to fifty years ago, and a very likely place would have been the Norfolk Naval Base.

If you are aware of anyone who worked at the base, 1941 to 1945, and is still alive, I would like to hear from them. I can be reached at WilliamL0828@gmail.com, or at (202) 362-3799.

My Mother worked at the base, which is where we believe she was exposed to asbestos and she passed away July 2, 2008. At one time, she worked in Building V-28, which was a restricted area, and later worked in various other sections of the base.

Thank you.

I myself am very involved in African Wildlife, and Africa can be a rather unforgiving state. This Documentary is very well done in the blueprint it presents everything. It revolves around a long drought that happened at the Mala Mala Game Reserve in Africa, and is centered around five Main Predators. A Pride of Lions, A Clan of Spotted Hyenas, A Lone Leopard, Cheetahs and African Wild Dogs. It portrays what happens when water is scarce, and food is hard to bag. These five predators constantley have to fight for food with each other, which leads to some improbable confrontations, hence the name Predators at War.

It is very well narrated and shows some unbelievable footage, One of my current parts is when several female Lions, A Hyena, and A Leopard are all fighting for the same meal, its tense! Its also very graphic and portrays the upright nature of these beasts in Hard Times, so its not the best for the Kids. Its my accepted Animal Documentary and that’s why it deserves a perfect Five.

I saw it on NGC before the release on DVD, and I ordered several copies since I plan it is a amazing gift.

The scenes are very well selected so that it matches perfectly with the narration. If you are looking for battles between huge African predators this is it! But observe out, scenes are tough and loaded with the natural cruelty that characterizes the dreadful survival fight in animal life. Basic instincts.

“Quantum Leap” hit its roam during the third season. The exhibit had dramatic episodes honest as noteworthy as season three but this was the most consistent season for this classic TV series. During the third season Sam leaps into a KISS type rock star (complete with dramatic invent up and with Scott Bakula doing his believe singing!) ; into himself at 16 where he must change an event in his beget past; Sam also leaps into a Navy Seal in Vietnam serving under his older brother where Sam faces a novel problem. Is Sam there to achieve the life of his older brother (who is fated to die the next day), insure the success of the mission or for some other mysterious reason? The series at its best managed to enlighten the best elements of drama: Sam never knows why he’s there and what he has to upright which leads to many emotionally grand and friendly feeling moments during the third season. What brought the best episodes home were the performances by the series two mainstay performers the helpful Scott Bakula (”Enterprise”) and acerbic Dean Stockwell as Al who appears only as a hologram and must guide Sam with information from the future.

If Sam Beckett had been able to truly leap attend through time during his life time he would have been able to foresee the licensing agreement issues that prevent his TV series from having the recent music in it and prevented it from being replaced. Some of the fresh music survives but it depends on how instrumental it was to the episode. By the map, Bakula’s nice performance of “Imagine” is intact for “The Leap Home Section I”.

Aside from an occasionally grainy or soft episode, “Quantum Leap” looks exceptional here. While there are mild analog flaws in the create of occasional dirt and irregularities in the prints feeble, the colors are brilliant, image quality arresting and knowing (with the exception of those episodes using stock footage) . The 2.0 stereo soundtrack also sounds quite crisp and lustrous. Dialogue is, for the most section, very certain and the music comes across with nice presence.

I was hoping that Sam would figure out how to screen some extras from the past for Universal to get when transferring this to DVD. We fetch an episode guide on disc three that lists which episodes are on which discs (which might be an extra if it served any useful purpose such as having trivia about each episode) . We bag an onscreen synopsis for each episode before playing the episode and a synopsis on the support of each slimline DVD holder. The tremendous disagreement here is the redesigned packaging. Gone are the accordion holders which threatened to scratch the dual layered, dual sided discs for each season. Instead, we accept individual slimline holders for each disc along with a synopsis on the benefit of the holder giving a brief description of each episode (worthy like the DVD version included as well) . Missing, however, are some of the promo photos that adorned the accordion style holders. I miss them. It’s a pity that Universal chose not to adorn the inside of the paper sleeves in each slim line holder with photos for the inside. It does appear that these are the uncut unique episodes as they aired on NBC.

This is an space where Universal continues to whisk late impartial about every studio. Would it have wound Universal to provide commentary by Scott Bakula (particularly since he recently filmed a cameo for the unusual “Quantum Leap” TV expose), Dean Stockwell (he appears in the modern note as a regular) or even creator Bellisario? “The Leap Home” parts 1 and 2 would have been a perfect spot for commentary tracks.

“Quantum Leap” continues to study nice in its DVD transfer but it seems that Universal is rushing out “product” which really does a disservice to the fans. This particularly location was designed to coincide with the release of “Enterprise” on DVD and the last two episodes of “Enterprise” airing on UPN. Synergy can be everything but it can also add up to nothing particularly when “product” is rushed out to meet a predestined release date or tie in. Universal, please do it good for the last two sets of the series. This graceful series and its fans deserve better.

I have a few issues with this space. First the discs are DVD-18 (i.e. dual-layer, double sided) . I have four DVD players and the discs won’t play in three of them. They will play on the fourth, but it “hiccups” and hangs for a small or more on stop randomly. Sometimes it will honest skip around 5-10 minutes randomly making them impossible to behold. I bought the region when it came out and have only made it through four episodes.

Second, the morose subject of the music. I have to side with the “why bother” camp. If you aren’t going to do the dwelling fair, I don’t want it. I’ve been tivo’ing and DVR-ing season 4 & 5 off Sci-fi, unbiased for this reason. They won’t come by anymore money off of me unless they release them factual. It wouldn’t be so terrible if they subbed out lesser known bands/music from each era to put on money, the feel would peaceful be the same, but the muzak pieces are an abomination. The biggest offender(from season 2) is Ray Charles’s “Georgia.” This song is integral to the character of Al and is even revisited in the finale. The scene in interrogate is(was) very intelligent and touching. Now it is a hollow shell of its stale self. Objective an example of how music changes the exhibit.

For those that mediate it is only a couple minutes of music, judge again. Here is a complete listing of the replaced music:

This year we’ve seen Abby Cadaby of “Sesame Street” go to the Muppet version of Wonderland, next year we’re going to a Tim Burton vision of Wonderland, but upright now we can follow Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and the gang down a different sort of rabbit hole.

“Mickey Mouse Clubhouse” is a CG-animated daytime series for preschoolers on the Playhouse Disney schedule of the Disney Channel. It has some references to the fresh “Mickey Mouse Club” — a roll call, for example — but instead of Mouseketeers, Mickey and his pals play a more central role. The stories are simple and involve viewer participation, in the style of “Dora the Explorer.”

This lengthened episode takes the gang to a gentler version of the Lewis Carroll land, where the characters suggest Mother Goose more than Wonderland and the songs are short ditties. It’s nice to view characters like Daisy Duck, Clarabelle Cow and others join the action with Mickey, Goofy and Minnie. Most of all, it gives young children a chance to procure to know these characters as something besides merchandise.

The leisurely, huge Wayne Allwine is on hand here to screech Mickey, along with his widow, Russi Taylor as Minnie. Recently announced Disney Legends Tony Anselmo and Bill Farmer instruct Donald and Goofy, respectively. The program can be played in two modes for different age groups with questions for advanced play. A bonus episode of “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse” called “Goofy Goes Goofy” rounds out the package.

This movie is perfect for those kids who are fair venerable enough to devour something a cramped longer than the standard 25 minutes of an episode. The movie keeps their attention, but is long enough to be considered a proper movie. I wish they had more like this.

A cinematic version of Tolkien’s THE LORD OF THE RINGS ranks up with the hope that Lucas will indeed effect another Star Wars Trilogy, and, I mediate I can safely say, this is one of the most anticipated films in the movie industry’s long and checkered history. You would believe it’s movie paradise, considering Lucas has been in the midst of another Star Wars trilogy and LORD OF THE RINGS has finally got a cinema deal (live action!), but PHANTOM MENACE proved something of a disappointment (Mesa Jar Jar Binks!), and I contemplate quite a few people will enter into the theatre with a obvious amount of trepidation.

There’s a reason for that. Three interesting Tolkien films have been released with very problematic results. The 1978 Bakshi release is impartial embarrassing; the film is both incoherent and confusing.

Rankin & Bass’s two movies are fair for tiny kids; those two films are Tolkien for Saturday Morning cartoons. They proved my introduction to Tolkien and for that I am thankful, but the movies composed fail to seize the grandeur of Tolkien’s imagination.

There are two things to deem here about a work of literature. Although all agreeable literature has a polarization enact on its readers, this work has a mammoth legion of followers which are extremely dedicated to Tolkien’s vision (I count myself a member of this camp) . The other camp cannot figure out what the huge fuss is about and why they should care about the unusual.

Now, there’s a reason why all this is relevant to the film: had Peter Jackson gone to far either arrangement the film would have fallen apart. Appeal to mighty to the fan-base and you loose the general movie-goer. Appeal to noteworthy to the movie-goer, and you’ll lose the fan-base.

So when the fan wicked learned of Peter Jackson’s decision to film all three films at once, an unprecedented recede in movie history, most of us really wanted it to be valid but were unprejudiced simply timorous. We’ve already been burnt. Would it be so terrible that it would alienate both fan improper and those who are impartial looking for a genuine movie?

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Lord of the Rings – The Fellowship of the Ring! Click Here

Not only does Peter Jackson’s film work, it’s magnificent, gorgeous, has all the record and grandeur of the book. Jackson, a Tolkien fanatic, could have gotten so eager with bringing out the extremely detailed world Tolkien gave us that the pacing would suffer or we’d lose patience with all these obscure details which would alienate the regular movie goer. Not only does he not alienate the general movie goer, but he entices the fan harmful so considerable they can’t serve but drop in appreciate with his vision of Tolkien’s world.

The only right flaw is how rushed first fragment of the movie is. Although I can understand cutting the Extinct Forest and Tom Bombadil, the map they handled getting the hobbits out of the Shire was unacceptable. There is not that sense of camaraderie between the Hobbits that there is in the book, there is no “conspiracy,” and Merry and Pippin fair join without any questioning from Sam and Frodo. While Jackson does a profitable job at building the Hobbits’ characters and establishing their personalities, I couldn’t reach up with a wonderful reason why Frodo and Sam would unbiased let Merry and Pippin join them.

The Prancing Pony is worst. There is no questioning from the Hobbits about Aragorn proving himself, there is no scene about him asking them to trust him, and the whole sequence feels noteworthy too rushed. Sam only questions Aragorn while they’re actually out of the inn and traveling.

Thankfully, however, that is the only exact flaw. The rest of the things the script changed (tightening Elrond’s council, the expansion of Arwen, cutting Sam from the Galadriel mirror sequence, tempting Aragorn with the ring, etc) I can inspect why they did it for dramatic tension. I also liked the intention they handled Elrond’s council, because that could have ruined the movie like it did with Bakshi’s. They had established and covered distinguished of the material in that chapter elsewhere by means of voice-over prologue and actually showing the viewer what is happening (especially with the Isengard sequences), and as a result lessened the screentime of that scene and helping with the dramatics of it.

As for the controversial expansion of Arwen, I tend to agree with the film makers in their decision to enlarge her role. By making her fraction of the Ford sequence it introduces the character and establishes her in the viewer’s mind, and the relationship between Arwen and Aragorn is more fully explored. As for their romantic interlude in Rivendell, not only do I agree with that but believe it should have been done in the book. Tolkien did not know who Strider was when he was first writing FELLOWSHIP, and did not go relieve and change the scenes to further justify the romance between Arwen and Aragorn, and by not including a scene in Rivendell to set their adore for one another lessens by far the impact of their union in Fraction III, and (for once) this romantic scene is actually an improvement on the book. As for her role in the Flight at the Ford, for the movie they made the proper choice though the book is unexcited preferable.

In achieving the balance between fan infamous and the more causal fan, this film is a spectacular success. Making a movie out of a book the size of Fellowship, the fact is you will have to condense, tighten, rearrange, and fabricate changes for dramatic tensions. The mediums are different, and you cannot have a divulge translation from a book to a film. Despite of what they slit, the movie calm clocks in at three hours, which is very agreeable. The proper predicament with this film, as others illustrious, is it’s going to be a fleshy two years before we finally fetch to search for THE RETURN OF THE KING.

In the slay, we gain a movie that stays good to the SPIRIT of the book. This is what we Tolkien fans have long been waiting for. Thank you so noteworthy Peter Jackson and your cast and crew.

I already reviewed the regular “Motion Describe Trilogy” containing the non-extended editions of the legendary Lord of The Rings masterpieces on one spot. However, this newest edition is a substantial improvement on the previous edition. This item is a great, Distinguished better investment than the worn theatrical counterparts and is perhaps the greatest DVD win one will likely ever originate.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Lord of the Rings – The Fellowship of the Ring! Click Here

A lot “Director’s Slit” scenes are usually unprejudiced added footage that doesn’t do a whole lot to add onto the theatrical edition of movies with examples like Star Wars, Manhunter, or even most of the “Aliens” movies as well. The extra material is impartial that, extras, that wouldn’t ruin me to never behold again.

It’s a totally different anecdote altogether with the “Lord Of The Rings” movies altogether. While the regular theatrical editions were mind-blowing, the extended cuts of the same films do wonders in fleshing out the record and expanding the characters a lot more. Several characters that were not powerful more than background people are shown great more veil time, stories are greatly expanded, other scenes are great more meaningful, and the movies overall have a totally different feel altogether thanks to all of the extra footage that was not included on the theatrical editions. Now as I survey them, the faded editions of them are rendered almost completely dilapidated due to the chopped up nature of them. I sometimes wonder if Peter Jackson grimaced when he had to leave a lot of extra shots out of the movies to fit them onto the theatres when they were released.

“Fellowship” has 30 minutes of extra footage included to a length of 3 and a half hours. “The Two Towers” was extended 43 minutes to a total of 3 hours and 42 minutes and finally “The Return of The King” is extended by a tall 50 minutes and the ultimate result is a whopping 4 hours and 11 minutes long! I don’t know about you but I don’t know how one can form a longer movie like this but Jackson did it! The astronomical total of all three extended editions is at least an titanic 11 hours long! This is unbiased the movies themselves.

As for all of the extras on the “Extended Editions”, there are over a days worth of extras for surf through on the latter two discs of each film place. The things on them are too stout to interpret in detail with this review.

Whether you occupy them individually or all at once on this massive gift state, “The Lord of The Rings” trilogy goes down as the greatest trilogy of all time. You could not execute a better remove. I divulge it!

I watched the first volume not incandescent what to inquire of, and ended up really liking it. The animation and character get has a really cute, solid style, and the backgrounds are absolutely comely (especially during run scenes with shots soaring over the landscape) . I really enjoyed seeing all the different alien races and their ships, as well; they were creatively designed. The main character Eva (AKA Molly) was a refreshing alternative to most young female characters one finds these days – vivid, strong, but with all the imperfections of her youth.

One thing I liked a lot was the fact that Rick Thunderbolt, who seemed at first like a token jock and a set scheme thrown in to simply develop an obstacle (he was even taken out by a convenient accident), comes help to become a mentor figure for Molly.

Even as an (nearly) 18 year broken-down, I liked this expose a lot and am interested to perceive the second volume.

Well this was a bit of a surprise, and a ample surprise at that. I was looking for a more fun anime series, as it has been awhile since I’ve taken on a series like that.

There’s no mistaking that this is a series that is a bit more family generous than others, but it manages this without giving it that saturday morning cartoon feel. The epic itself aloof has quite a bit of depth to it, and it runs the elephantine range of emotions, both negative and obvious. It explores major issues like disaster, and death, in a map that works for a explain like this without having a negative carry out on its impact.

The characters face death and injury, encounter personal conflicts amongst each other, feel the highs of victory and sting of defeat and so on; the sage doesn’t suffer from the lack of obvious “dilapidated” components. It’s a family salubrious cartoon, but manages to do so without feeling overly kiddy. Sex, blood and violence are obviously missing, which is shapely since this series really wouldn’t serve from any of those. Aside from that though, it tranquil manages to form the characters well and provide a sage with enough depth, something many series aimed at family audiences unbiased can’t pull off.

The art style might remove a bit of getting traditional to. It’s a collaboration between a Japanese studio and a French studio, so while the anime element is obviously there, it does have a different feel to it. The most essential new element of the art style is the lack of defined noses on the characters, but it works once you score adjusted to it. The color palette ancient and how well the colors blend makes the series really quite impressive visually. The CG also mixes in well with the 2D, it doesn’t really suffer from that out of residence feeling that you accept in other shows where the two styles are mixed.

As long as you’re no the type who needs that sure “maturity” that anime titles loaded with fanservice, gore, or really murky storylines provide, then this is definitely worth a view. You certainly can’t go foul with an entire 26 episode series being released on two volumes under $20 a part either.

For those that are hardcore sub fans though, you might be disappointed in that the series is presented with the English dub only. It’s a well done dub though, and the series was made with the plan of being broadcast internationally as well. One thing worth noting as well is that the DVD uses the opening and closing songs dilapidated in the Japanese/French version, and not the songs archaic in the US broadcast version.

All in all it’s a salubrious series that is fun and lighthearted, but aloof provides enough depth and conflict to impart a friendly, enthralling sage. It’s also a suitable deal as well as each volume has 13 episodes a fragment and normally be found for around $15 (MSRP is status at 19.99) . If you be pleased a series like this, then this is a pleasant choose.
